Matt Watts (°1987) is an American folk singer born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to a spiritual family with Cherokee roots in the Carolinas where he spent his childhood, already destined to be uprooted by his father’s calling to the ministry. He has lived in over seven different States, including a year in Paris, France. It was at the age of fifteen in the mountains of Montana along the Missouri river that he began recording his songs, organizing local concerts and touring the North West. Since arriving in Antwerp, Belgium at the age of nineteen he has become a folk singer in his own write. In 2011 he independently released “Joy And Longing” (CD/Digital), an album written during a stay in Cambridge, England and recorded over various visits back to Belgium. In 2013 “Wayward Wind” (Vinyl/Digital) was released through Bobonne Records. The album was recorded live using only first takes in a mobile studio at the Belgian coast in collaboration with country group The Calicos.
