Zita Swoon Group is touring with Wait For Me, a collaboration with singer Awa Démé and on the balafon Mamadou Diabaté Kibié from Burkina Faso. "The sound is a mixture of raw acoustic blues and folk and the traditional ‘mandigue’ music from West-Africa. The songs deal with the moral and the problems of modern African society". The album will be released at Crammed Discs February, 20th.
Zita Swoon Group also continues to tour with Dancing With The Sound Hobbyist, a collaboration with dance company Rosas. "A concert dansed in zero-gravity. The group proposes another path for revisiting the obligatory exercise of the concert. More risky in a funny way, and more exciting in another way."
Aarich Jespers and Stef Kamil Carlens are composing instrumental music for New Old World, a soundtrack to how they feel about the world anno 2012. About a new world we can only just still imagine and organize and an old one which, the way it’s going now, is unstoppable and seems to be heading for disaster. With new old music that sounds like yesterday and tomorrow. The show will premiere in Rotterdamse Schouwburg nl April, 10th and deSingel be April, 18th.
Also in 2012 Stef Kamil Carlens goes on with intimate solo shows as a breeding ground for new songs.
